Toyota’s Tacoma TRD: A Chewy Delight for Your Pup!
Check out this unexpected treat! In celebration of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's launch, Toyota is hosting a bash for off-road enthusiasts and their furry companions. Introducing the Tacoma Tough And Rough Dogs (TRD) – a canine plaything crafted from natural rubber.
The genesis of this concept occurred when a clay model resembling this chew toy appeared on Toyota's social media during the new Tacoma's teaser campaign. Though the final design of the truck remained elusive, the differences between the old and new models were discernible. Now, that clay prototype has transitioned into a rubber reality, tailor-made for our four-legged pals.
Much like its automotive counterpart, Toyota asserts that this toy is "specially engineered to withstand the roughest and toughest terrains," resilient even against the most formidable Rottweiler bites. The TRD stands out in the canine toy market, and judging by our dogs' reactions, they seem to be TRD enthusiasts, just like their owners.
Despite the toy's heft and its "tough and rough" branding, even petite Chihuahuas may find it appealing. The Taco's bed is designed for owners to insert treats like peanut butter, while the windshield and hood can serve as a canine tongue cleaner.
Toyota generously provided us with an early sample for review. While the unconventional shape might not be as conventional as a regular dog bone, we were pleasantly surprised to witness our own pups eagerly biting and playing with it.
Wondering how to get your paws on one? Starting Wednesday, December 13 at 1 pm Eastern, Toyota will launch www.toyotatoughandroughdogs.com. You can snag one of these special Tacos TRDs for free, but act fast – only 500 of these chew Tacomas are up for grabs. Given their popularity among our canine companions, they're likely to disappear quickly. Toyota mentions that the Taco TRD Chew Toy will make special appearances at various Toyota events next year. So, keep an eye out for these treats for both you and your dog!
